College Elections
Barring an incident in which at least 10 students of DAV College were rounded up by the police for allegedly carrying fake identity cards to cast their vote, the elections passed off peacefully. The students were later released, said sources in the police. The results were declared by the afternoon. Elections for class representatives were held simultaneously.
At MCM DAV College, none of the national students’ parties or those from Panjab University had fielded their candidates. Prachi Yadav and Tanvi were elected president and secretary, respectively.
